Bulldog Tours is pleased to offer exclusive nighttime access to Charleston’s most hauntingly beautiful Victorian burial grounds. Originally a 1790s rice plantation, Magnolia Cemetery was founded in 1849 on the banks of the Cooper River in Downtown Charleston. Home to 35,000 permanent residents, including socialites, bootleggers, authors and politicians. This cemetery was once used as a Confederate encampment; more than 2,000 Confederate soldiers, including the eight-man Hunley crew, as well as Union soldiers all lay at rest here.
One of Bulldog’s newest Ghost Tours

What Our Guests are Saying
My friends and I went on the Spirits of Magnolia tour and it exceeded our expectations. Chris was our tour guide and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. The cemetery itself was full of energy and we were seeing things the whole time. Highly recommend the tour and Bulldog Tours is your best bet for an informative and creepy time in Charleston.Logan - Google Reviews
My friends and I were in Charleston for my bachelorette party and we are all paranormal enthusiasts so we went on the haunted Magnolia Cemetery tour. Keith was our guide and he was AMAZING! Such a great story teller and host! The cemetery was absolutely beautiful and we did have a sighting. Going back through pictures, we caught a couple of orbs and a shadow that correlated with the sighting! SO MUCH FUN! Highly recommend it!Kristin - Google Reviews
Our family had a great time during the late evening ghost tour of the Magnolia cemetery. We learned lots of history and enjoyed the ghost stories.Thing-002 - Tripadvisor

What do the Tour Activity Levels mean?
- EASY – Walking tours are designed for a leisurely pace but may include uneven sidewalks, some stairs and a combination of walking and standing for up to two hours.
- MODERATE – Tours will include a more active pace at times including stairs and uneven terrain. Expect to be on your feet for the duration of the tour covering a minimum of a mile and half of the area.
- ACTIVE – A high physical activity level is required to walk and climb narrow stairs. This tour is not recommended for guests who require canes or walkers.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Advanced purchase is strongly recommended, as tours often sell out well in advance. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance.
What if it rains?
Tours will go on rain or shine. If there is a hurricane in Charleston at the time of the tour, there is no need to show up. We will be busy boarding up windows or throwing a Hurricane Party. (Seriously though, we run in every kind of weather.)
Is the tour wheelchair- and/or stroller-accessible?
Our downtown tours are wheelchair and stroller accessible, but it is advised that all guests take caution navigating the uneven terrain of Charleston.
How many stops?
Your guide will lead you on a tour through sections of this historic cemetery with periodic stops within the cemetery.
How much walking? Is it a fast paced tour?
Our ghost tours are about 1-1.5 miles in distance, which may vary. We seek to provide you with plenty of stories and legends while keeping a comfortable pace with guests.
Do I need a flashlight?
Your tour guide is equipped with a flashlight to guide the way as well as to gesture and gather attention to objects relevant to their stories.
Is the tour scary?
Different things scare different people. However, these tours are primarily story-based experiences. Nothing should jump out in front of you, and if it does, we recommend you run!
Is it appropriate for kids?
All of our ghost tours are considered family-friendly.
Do we go through a graveyard?
Our Charleston Ghost and Graveyard Tour, Magnolia Cemetery Tour and VIP Ghost Package feature exclusive visits inside of historic graveyards.
What if I am hard of hearing?
Our professional guides are skilled public speakers and work hard to make sure everyone can hear during the tour. If you are hard of hearing, please let your guide know and we’ll ensure you get a front-row seat.
