What Our Guests are Saying
We did the Yorktown Ghost Tour with Dustin and it was an awesome experience with an awesome host! Dustin was knowledgeable and had a passion for the history of the boat and the ghosts that haunt it. While we didn't see any ghosts there were some strange occurrences that added to the experience. If you get the chance, definitely book the tour with Dustin!Matthew - Google Reviews
This was an amazing tour! The history of the ship and ghost stories were great. An incredible thing to see! Out tour guide knew the ship incredibly well and told great stories, he also let us walk around areas on our own to get pictures and take our time. Highly recommend it!Emily - Google Reviews
My daughter and I took the USS Yorktown ghost tour with Tad. He is a great tour guide with so much information about the ship and the heroes that served on her. The tour is full of jokes, stories, and a few spooky moments. Nothing too scary, still great for older kids. The tour goes in some areas of the ship not normally open to the public. I highly recommend this tour if you are into history or the paranormal!Sarah - Google Reviews
Great tour, great tour guide, very knowledgeable, learned a lot last night and got to see areas of the ship I’ve never seen before. The type of tour you can take over and over again because it’s such an awesome experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do the Tour Activity Levels mean?
- EASY – Walking tours are designed for a leisurely pace but may include uneven sidewalks, some stairs and a combination of walking and standing for up to two hours.
- MODERATE – Tours will include a more active pace at times including stairs and uneven terrain. Expect to be on your feet for the duration of the tour covering a minimum of a mile and half of the area.
- ACTIVE – A high physical activity level is required to walk and climb narrow stairs. This tour is not recommended for guests who require canes or walkers.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Advanced purchase is strongly recommended, as tours often sell out well in advance. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance.
What if it rains?
Tours will go on rain or shine. If there is a hurricane in Charleston at the time of the tour, there is no need to show up. We will be busy boarding up windows or throwing a Hurricane Party. (Seriously though, we run in every kind of weather.)
Is the tour wheelchair- and/or stroller-accessible?
Because of the narrow stairs and tight passageways, this tour is not conducive to wheelchairs and strollers. Ask about our private tours that can be offered with accommodations in mind.
How many stops?
Once aboard the USS Yorktown, guests are guided on a tour of a “behind the ropes” portion of the ship. The remaining exhibits not included on the tour are included in the tour price and may be explored on your own.
How much walking? Is it a fast paced tour?
Most of the walking for this tour is done as guests approach the aircraft carrier. There are narrow passageways, steps and ladders on the tour, but walking is light to moderate.
Do I need a flashlight?
Your tour guide is equipped with a flashlight to guide the way as well as to gesture and gather attention to objects relevant to their stories.
Is the tour scary?
Different things scare different people. However, these tours are primarily story-based experiences. Nothing should jump out in front of you, and if it does, we recommend you run!
Is it appropriate for kids?
All of our ghost tours are considered family-friendly.
Do we go through a graveyard?
This tour takes place aboard the USS Yorktown and does not include a graveyard.
What if I am hard of hearing?
Our professional guides are skilled public speakers and work hard to make sure everyone can hear during the tour. If you are hard of hearing, please let your guide know and we’ll ensure you get a front-row seat.
Is parking available?
Parking is available for a small fee at Patriots Point for tours aboard the USS Yorktown.
What if I need to cancel or change my booking?
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a FULL refund. If you need to change or modify your tickets, simply call us at 843-722-TOUR (8687). We offer trip protection which ensures a refund within the 24 hours prior to the tour if you need to cancel.

Are tours offered only in English?

Should I tip my Bulldog tour guide?
If you feel your tour guide has provided a great experience, gratuities are encouraged— and welcomed—at the end of your tour. We believe that recognizing excellent service is a personal matter, though 15-20% of your booking fee is a good rule of thumb. Gratuities for your guide are always appreciated, but never expected.
